Middle Fork Aviation

Middle Fork Aviation will fly you to your launch, shuttle you or your gear, fly passengers in or out midway through your trip, or even resupply your coolers. When the water is low and the river is spiny, we can drop extra weight (gear or passengers) to the runway of your choice.

A typical load for one of our Cessna 206 airplanes is 1,000 lbs. That’s room for four large coolers or dry boxes, a couple inflatable kayaks, miscellaneous. charcoal, beer and a person up front.

If we’re flying your entire party and all the rafts, coolers, camping equipment etc. (excluding hard kayaks) divide the number of people in your party by two and that is a close estimate on the number of loads you will need, plus or minus one of two ––everyone’s gear fits in the plane a little differently.

Turn-around time for each flight is about an hour, so if you have 20 people in your group, that’s about 10 loads. With three airplanes, it will take about four hours to get your party on the river.
